Fantastic craft activity, suitable from 7 to teens. This great Ruffle Rug craft kit from Alex Toys uses cotton coloured strips to weave through the stitching of the 39 x 62cm rug supplied. Weave the cotton strips through the rug leaving a little loop. Then snip the loop to create the 'ruffled' look. This rug is large enough that 2 children can work on it from either end, great for when a bedroom is shared. The design can be as easy or detailed as the weaver desires and extra strips can be made from fabric offcuts, allowing for a huge variety in rug designs.
