Essential Chemistry EIN-O Science Kit - Colour Mixer

This is a great little kit, I especially liked the fact that there were four tablets of each colour so you can do the experiments again. I also liked the way that all the experiments were tied in together and you didn't have to keep emptying and refilling the pots.

My mum really liked the fact that it could all be packed away and kept in the storage box.

The linear and exponential experiments were very fun but the first colour mixing experiments were the best.

There are 4 colour tablets so you can use the kit 4 times but obviously you can supplement with food colouring once the tablets are used up.

The booklet talked about pigment colours (as used in the kit) and the primary colours of light. The booklet also talks about wavelengths and that we see colour with the cone cells in our eyes. Very few words but giving a lot of information. Brilliant. Succinct and well phrased.

The instructions were clear and it actually worked! So many kits prove to be a disappointment. This one occupied her for over an hour (and even then she only stopped because we had to go out) and demonstrated linear and exponential dilution.

A lovely kit. Would be the sort of thing I'd keep in the cupboard for those moments when she wants to do something new but it is reasonably contained and doesn't take half a day. Would also make a fab gift or stocking filler.
